How do I connect Airwallex?

    Updated 23 October 2026

Create a read-only API key in Airwallex, paste it into Krak Stack, run the first import and disconnect if needed.

6 questions answered in this guide.

Krak Stack reads the balances and transactions of your Airwallex account to match them with your invoices. The connection is read-only: Krak Stack never sees or makes payments.

    Steps

    1. Open Settings > Finance, Bank connection tab, then click the Airwallex card.
    2. Create a read-only key in Airwallex: click Open Airwallex, then in Airwallex open Account, Developer, API keys and New scoped API key. Name the key Krak Stack and tick Read only for these three items: Balances;; Deposits;; Financial Transactions. Never tick Write.
    3. Paste the Client ID and the key: in Krak Stack, paste the Client ID and the API key shown by Airwallex.
    4. Click Connect Airwallex. Krak Stack checks the key with Airwallex, then runs the first import and shows how many accounts were found and transactions imported.

    Good to know

    • Only an administrator of your company can connect or disconnect the bank.
    • Airwallex shows the key only once: paste it right away. Krak Stack stores it encrypted and never shows it again.
    • A key refused by Airwallex is not saved.
    • The first import covers the last 90 days. After that, Krak Stack synchronises every hour.
    • Once connected, the card shows "Connected since …" with the end of the Client ID, the Synchronise now button and the More menu (Full history catch-up, Disconnect Airwallex).
    • Without Deposits access, synchronisation works but without payer details (name, IBAN, reference), which makes reconciliation less precise.
    • Disconnect Airwallex deletes the key from Krak Stack and keeps imported transactions. Also delete the key in Airwallex.

    Frequently asked questions

What if Airwallex refuses my Client ID and key?

Check that the Client ID and the key come from the same Airwallex key, then try again.

Why does synchronisation report an access refusal?

The key lacks Read access to Balances, Deposits and Financial Transactions. Create a new key with these three accesses and reconnect.

I lost the key: can I see it again in Krak Stack?

No, it is never shown again. Create a new key in Airwallex, disconnect, then reconnect with the new one.

Why do my older transactions not show up?

Use More > Full history catch-up and pick a start date. A period that is too wide can hit a limit: then run a normal synchronisation.

What if Airwallex does not answer?

Try again in a few minutes; the next hourly run also retries by itself.

What happens to my reconciliations if I disconnect?

Imported transactions and validated reconciliations are kept.
