Every container in your fleet has its own record in Krak Stack. Create it by hand for a few units; for a whole fleet, use the import instead.

Steps
- Open the Containers menu (Management group) and click New container. The New Container shortcut in the dashboard Quick Actions opens the same form.
- In the Identification section, type the Reference: 11 characters, 4 letters then 6 digits then 1 check digit (for example CSQU3054383).
- Pick the Type and the Condition. Fill in YOM, Color, Vents and ISO Code if needed.
- In the Current State section, choose the Current Port, then the Depot. The depot list only shows depots linked to the chosen port.
- In Trading Lifecycle > Acquisition, enter the Purchase Price. Add the Purchase Date, the supplier company and the purchase Active Trading if you know them.
- Complete Physical Specifications (weights, dimensions, CSC, inspections, features) and Pictures as needed.
- Click Create.
To edit a container, open its record, click Edit, change the fields and click Save changes.
Good to know
- Required fields: Reference, Type, Condition, Current Port and Purchase Price. Color becomes required for a container in a new condition.
- The reference is turned to upper case and stripped of spaces, dashes and dots. It can exist only once in your workspace.
- A new container gets the depot status of your status library ("In Depot" by default). Its depot stay starts on the day of creation.
- Only users with the Override status permission (administrators by default) can change the Status in the form. For everyone else, the status follows operations: leasing, release, pick-up, return, sale.
- The "Completed" status is kept for containers that were sold and left the fleet. If you put a sold container back in stock by hand, Krak Stack asks you to confirm it really is at the depot and to give a reason.
Frequently asked questions
What does Krak Stack check on the container number?
The ISO 6346 format: 4 letters, 6 digits and a check digit computed from the first 10 characters. If the last digit does not match, the message shows the expected digit.
The number painted on the box is non-standard. How do I save it?
When the check digit is wrong, the I confirm this number as typed box appears. Tick it only if the number written on the container really is this one.
Why is an existing number not checked?
The check digit only blocks new numbers. References already in your workspace are never refused.
The depot I am looking for is not listed.
Make sure the Current Port is filled and that the depot is a company of type Depot linked to that port.
I cannot change the status. Is that normal?
Yes, if you do not have the permission to override the status. The status normally changes through operations: booking on a deal, release, pick-up, return.
Can I delete a container?
Yes, from the edit page, unless it is engaged on a deal or appears on an active invoice. Remove it from the deal or the invoice first.
How do I create several hundred containers?
Use the import wizard with a CSV file.
