Every company in Krak Stack has a type. It classifies your companies and, for some types, offers them in the right place in forms.

Steps
- You choose the type in the Type field of the Identification section when you create or edit a company.
- In the Companies list, the type shows as a colored badge. The Type filter shows one or more types only.
- To manage types, open the Statuses & labels settings, Company types tab (for catalog administrators only).
- To add your own type, create it with a name, a code, a color and an icon.
Good to know
Five types are provided by the system. Their default names can be renamed:
- Client: your leasing and sales customers.
- Seller: your container suppliers and sellers.
- Depot: depots. This type has its own rules: the Port becomes required, the record shows the Depot Pricing, Document Contacts & Notes and Depot stock reports sections, and the company appears in the Depots menu and in the depot choice of releases, returns, tradings and transports.
- Repair Provider: repairers.
- Transporter: carriers, offered in transports.
Rules:
- The five system types keep their code and stay active. You can change their name, color and icon.
- Your own types are free. A type you created can be deleted as long as no company uses it.
- A type's code is unique in your workspace.
